👩🍳 Instructions
- 1 Beat the butter and powdered sugar together until soft and pale.
- 2 Add the egg yolk and mix well.
- 3 Add the grated edam cheese.
- 4 Sift the flour, cornstarch, and salt, then add to the batter.
- 5 Mix well until the dough can be shaped.
- 6 Take a small amount of dough and shape it into a crescent or an oval log.
- 7 Arrange on a baking sheet, spacing them apart.
- 8 Bake in the oven at 150°C (300°F) for 20-25 minutes, making sure they don't turn brown.
- 9 Mix the powdered sugar and powdered milk together for the coating.
- 10 Once the cookies are just slightly warm, roll them in the sugar mixture.
- 11 Once completely cooled, roll them in the sugar mixture once more.
💡 Tips
• Edam cheese that's a bit on the dry side works best since it won't make the dough too wet.
• The powdered sugar and powdered milk coating gives the cookies a creamier flavor.
• Store in an airtight container, separating the layers with parchment paper.
